Per WAC 220-353-130, it’s unlawful for any person to import into, transport, transfer, sell, or possess mosquito fish (Gambusia affinis) within the state of Washington, with the exception of permitted agencies authorized by chapter 17.28 RCW.
Importation and transportation of mosquito fish in Washington State requires approval and a permit by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). CCMCD does not have a permit for importation or transport of mosquito fish, and therefore we are unable to use them in our operations or provide them to citizens.
